Traveling with your dog to Canada or Mexico?  There are NEW requirements from the CDC for your pet to enter back into the United States!

  • ALL dogs must be microchipped
  • ALL dogs must be vaccinated for rabies
  • ALL dogs must be 6 months or older
You must fill out a CDC Dog Import Form.  This can be done up to the day of travel and is valid for 6 months after receipt.  You can find this form here.

Cats are not required to have this form and do not require any certification if re-entering the United States from Canada or Mexico.  Other pets may have different requirements.  Click here to view additional info from the CDC on importation of different pets.

MOST countries besides Canada and Mexico have additional requirements for pets to enter from the United States.

If you’re planning to travel internationally with your pet, please call to schedule a consultation appointment with us as soon as possible.  Some countries require months of advance testing and planning, and most require health certificates filled out by your veterinarian and submitted to the USDA prior to travel.
